The goal of this work package is to motivate the theoretical questions and problem formulations addressed in WP1-4, and to serve as a testing ground for verification and proof-of-concept of the final results of the EPrice project. The crucial partner in achieving these goals is Kema. Over the past 9 years, Kema has developed a suitable dynamical model of the Dutch power system, which is particularly intended and suited for this type of studies. The model describes in detail the current Dutch power system and includes appropriate models of the remaining part of the UCTE grid. It is based on real-life date and has been verified on real-life measurements. This verification approach that will be performed in this work package is virtually the only way to assess the added value of the project outcomes. The fact that this will be performed on a verified model classifies these studies as a proof-of-the-concept for the E-Price project.
