Ioannis Lampropoulos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1981. He received the Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering and M.Sc. in Telecommunications from the National Technical University of Athens in March 2006. From September 2007 until December 2009, he followed the Sustainable Energy Technology M.Sc. program at the Delft University of Technology. The thesis dissertation, which was the result of a joint research between TU Delft and Enexis B.V., discussed the effect of charging electric vehicles' batteries on low voltage electricity distribution systems and the possibilities for electrical energy loss reduction.
From February 2010 he is a Ph.D. researcher at the department of Electrical Energy Systems, Eindhoven University of Technology. He is carrying out research under the E-Price project (Price-based Control of Electrical Power Systems). He is a chartered engineer at the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2006 and his research interests are in the areas of electric transportation, planning and operation of power systems, distributed generation and sustainable development.
